According to a tweet by Business Insider editor Joseph Weisenthal today, Apple has increased the prices for the iPad mini, iPad, and iPod touch in the online Apple Store in Japan.
According to Reuters, the Japanese yen continues to weaken after a devaluation across the past several months, getting to ¥100.69 earlier today, which could be the reason for the price increase.
MacRumors reports that, prior to the increase, the least expensive entry level iPad (4th generation) was priced at ¥42,800, while the smaller iPad mini came in at ¥28,800. Today’s increase in price brings the iPad and iPad mini to ¥49,800 and ¥32,800, respectively, a

Apple has this morning added a new iPod touch to its online store that does away with the rear-facing iSight camera in an effort to be cheaper. The device also has just 16GB of internal storage — half that of the regular iPod touch — but it is $70 cheaper at $229.
The new model also comes in just one color — grey with a black front — and it doesn’t include the lanyard that comes with the regular model.

Apple has agreed to pay $53 million to settle its class-action lawsuit from customers. The iPhone maker used faulty moisture indicators in both iPhones and iPods that resulted in customers’ warranty claims getting denied.
Depending on which iPhone model you’ve own, you may be eligible to receive $300 in damages from Apple, according to the federal court documents that were filed in San Francisco.
The court found that Apple’s liquid submersion indicators on iPhones and iPods could be erroneously triggered by moisture during everyday use. The faulty sensors voided the warranty

Jony Ive, rumor has it, has done away with all the textures and real-world analogs in iOS 7 and has switched to a flat design instead. Good for him, but if that’s all that is new in iOS 7, Apple has a real problem. It’s not the design of iOS, but rather the fact that its own service offerings like Siri, iCloud and iTunes aren’t all that great when compared to what its competitors in Mountain View (and may startups) are working on.

Google’s stock price came close to its 52-week high on the first day of Google I/O today, hitting $915 per share at close. In comparison, Apple today dropped 15 points to close at $428 per share, 277 points off its 52-week high.
This morning, Google stock jumped to $909 per share from its opening price of $895 when Co-Founder Larry Page hit the stage at around 11:45. It is now trading at $916.50 in after-hours trading. The new Yahoo! Mail app for iOS has received another update just two weeks after its big revamp. This release adds support for Apple’s AirPrint service, allowing you to wirelessly print emails and attachments from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
You’ll need a printer that’s compatible with AirPrint, of course, or a desktop application that turns any printer into an AirPrint-compatible one — such as HandyPrint for Mac. You can then print emails and attachments you receive in Yahoo! Mail wirelessly.

Amazon today released an iPhone version of its Amazon Cloud Drive Photos mobile app that it originally launched on Android only back in November. Amazon;’s Cloud Drive Photos app for iPhone, like the Android version, will allow users to back up and view photos to their Amazon Cloud Drive accounts.
