Elevens is a solitaire card game in which players lay down cards, face-up and in a grid of 3X3. They then remove the cards in groups when they add up to eleven, and go until they can go no more.
Cassandra’s 11 is based on this game, in that you must tap cards from a grid when they add up to eleven. Tap a Nine and Two card, for example, or a Five, a Four, and a Two. What takes this universal app from developer Plexonic to the next level is the puzzle aspect.
Each “deck” section includes several groups of levels, each of which containing a treasure chest containing in-game currency that must be unlocked by tapping on cards

Pro-level audio and video software has always been daunting. While the average computer user knows how to operate them in a general sense (the advent of non-linear editing has essentially changed how we think about what we shoot and record) the addition of pro-level features like effects, mixing boards and MIDI instruments may make Trent Reznor drool but frightens bedroom guitarists.
Apple released Logic Pro X a few weeks ago to what I can only describe as quiet fanfare. The reviews spoke most highly of the built-in virtual drummer that can quickly and easily build backing tracks for your compositions and a remote control iPad app that allows for

Planning to get the new “iPhone 5C” when it goes on sale this fall? Well, you’ll want a good case to protect its smooth, plastic back from getting all scratched up, and Amazon already has you covered. Elago Design has begun taking pre-orders for its $24.99 slim fit case, which will ship on August 23.
That’s likely to be weeks before the iPhone 5C (if that is its real name) goes on sale, so be prepared to get impatient every time you see the case sit there on your desk with nothing inside it. Also bear in mind that this design hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, so you could end up with a case that doesn’t fit the iPhone 5C

No one has been able to legitimize the photo yet, and it could just show some knockoff packaging, but the nomenclature makes sense at least. If the aluminum body upgrade that seems probable for September/October is called the 5S, a cheaper plastic model (also heavily rumored) could be called the 5C where C stands for "color". . . or something.

One of the most common issues I hear about is forgotten Apple IDs. But this is not as simple as it sounds. Figuring out Apple ID details can involve finding out what the Apple ID username is, which Apple ID they should be using (if they have multiple), resetting security questions and answers, and resetting passwords.
Most people, if they have an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, are using their Apple ID on their mobile device. From there, if you go into the Settings App, you will be able to see your Apple ID.

“How can we create high quality, easy-to-use software for both professional and novice DJs?”
That’s the question that inspired co-founders Karim and Christoph to make Algoriddim’s djay, the award-winning music production software. At the time, DJ software was extremely expensive and complex, but the pair were determined to create meaningful change in an industry they were both tremendously passionate about. While they both enjoyed the art of scratching, in between attending classes and studying for exams at college, the two had vastly different skill levels.

Apple Working On Location-Aware Battery Management For iPhone - techcrunch.com
Apple has been tinkering with ways to make the iPhone better at managing battery life intelligently based on usage pattern, a new patent filing published by the USPTO today (spotted by AppleInsider) reveals. The application describes a system that learns your habits, evaluates how much power is needed between your usual charges and does everything it can to keep the phone running when you’re away from power sources.
The invention involves using location data combined with the kind of activity that a user is actually engaging in with their smartphone to give a more complete picture of when they need to be stingy with power and when they don’t. It’s

Apple’s stunning growth over the past decade has been one of the biggest stories in all of tech. Even as the company released new product after new product, and grew larger and larger, its growth rate continued to accelerate, far surpassing its competitors.
For the past ten years, Apple has posted year-over-year revenue growth every quarter, almost always more than 25% and frequently more than 50%. In that span, it’s gone from a company with less than $2 billion in quarterly sales to one with (once) more than $50 billion. For two quarters in a row in 2011, as the iPad and iPhone both picked up steam, Apple posted

You didn’t lose your e-mail, your camera, your iPod, the book you’re reading or the movie you were planning to watch on the train home.

Screen recording directly on iOS devices has usually required the device to be jailbroken. Rather than recording sans-PC, the general solution is to hook up the iPhone/iPad to a computer and use some sort of a mirroring app then record the computer’s display. Now, the app xRec has made its way into the App Store. As you can see in the video above, you do have to deal with a red “xRec” bar at the top of all screens since it is taking advantage of iOS’ recording APIs. On the plus side, you can quickly record the entire operating system on-the-go without plugging into a computer.

Report: Upgraded spec, lighter iPad Mini expected later this year, ‘almost bezel-free’ Retina version next year - 9to5mac.com
If today’s Digitimes report is to be believed, Apple has a spec-updated iPad Mini due later this year, in time for the holidays. Details are, of course, scant but a slightly updated version of the current iPad mini which is expected to be ‘lighter, thinner and equipped with improved specifications’ is said to be targeted for a 2nd half of 2013 release.
I’m not sure how much sense it makes to change the size of the iPad Mini at this point but some improved CPU/GPU would be appreciated – almost as much as a $30 price drop, which might make more strategic sense.

Apple Guilty Of Fixing Ebook Prices In DOJ Lawsuit - techcrunch.com
While publishers have agreed to a settlement in the ebook price-fixing case involving Apple and all the major book publishers, the federal judge has ruled that Apple is guilty with its iBookstore, according to Reuters. The U.S. Department of Justice will now have to determine damages in the coming months.
Back in April 2012, the DOJ wrote an antitrust complaint against Apple and six major book publishers in the U.S. Initially, Apple found the complaint “fundamentally flawed” and “absurd.” The six book publishers (now five) all caved, leaving Apple as the only remaining contender in the case.

Low-Cost iPhone's Plastic Case Shows Up In Alleged Video And Photo Leak - techcrunch.com
Apple is said to be preparing a lower cost iPhone for later this year, with a plastic shell instead of its typical recipe of metal and glass to lower component costs, and now a site called Techdy that creates Android knock-off handsets of higher-end devices is claiming to have obtained the new phone’s plastic casing and front screen assembly.
The supposed early manufacturing prototype leak shows a smooth plastic shell in white that Techdy says feels much higher-quality than the plastic casings used in phones by other manufacturers like Samsung. The front resembles the screen of the iPhone we all know and love, and has a black design that

Analysts, leakers, and reports from all over have pinpointed a plastic shell in a variety of colors. We even commissioned a 10 color rendering way back in April (above). Now Techdy shows us what it would look like if one of those shells was put on on a screen and given a high quality video/image treatment.
As can be seen from the images above, all the rumors about the low-cost plastic iPhone seem to be true. The budget iPhone will be made substantially from plastic (we can feel

Apple testing Android-like local voice dictation for iOS - 9to5mac.comiOS 7 Dictation Interface
Apple is testing a local, offline version of Dictation voice input for iOS devices, according to strings of code found inside of the iOS 7 beta. The code, which was discovered by Hamza Sood, is located inside of both iOS 7 betas, but it is not present in iOS 6. Currently, when an iOS user uses their voice to input text using Dictation, the iOS device will use software that uploads your speech to the cloud to be converted into text. Because this relies on an internet connection and a cloud backend, this could sometimes mean errors and long-loading times, as well as some unwanted data usage…

Apple presents itself as a company that ships hardware, software, and services that integrate together elegantly. While Apple makes the majority of its money from its hardware, Apple makes use of its free, popular internet services and software to sell their hardware. For example, the iLife suite of Mac apps that are included for free with new Mac purchases is a common reason that people choose to buy a Mac. On the iOS side, Apple offers free services like iCloud, iBooks, iMessage, Game Center, and later this year, iTunes Radio.
But on both the Mac and iOS Device side, one particular Apple service has stuck out as being a paid offering:

TeeVee 2 for iPhone, TV show tracking with a modern look - 9to5mac.comIn a world where Netflix releases entire seasons of TV shows at a time, like House of Cards and the new season of Arrested Development, personally, I find it increasingly difficult to schedule myself around when HBO wants to air a show or even when it has already aired something.
So when I shared a screenshot on Twitter a few months ago of Episodes, an app that allows you to follow and manage TV shows, a handful of people asked me which app this was I was using. Managing and tracking TV show scheduling is clearly something many people need a solution for.
TeeVee 2 is similar in that it allows you to follow your favorite shows on television without having to manually

Kayne West Got These Autographed Steve Jobs And Woz Mice For Father’s Day - cultofmac.com
Kayne West totally loves Steve Jobs. In fact, Yeezy proclaimed that he’s going to be like the ”Steve of Internet,” because writing rhymes and wearing flashy clothing is the same thing as creating the iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, iTunes, and all that.
Needless to say, Mr. West is fascinated by the mystique and charisma of El Jobso, so for a Father’s day gift, his girlfriend Kim Kardashian gave him an Apple mouse signed by Steve Jobs himself. No M.C. can do without a hype man though, so Kim flew Woz out to the hospital and he signed the other mouse himself.

iOS 7 Has Already Been Jailbroken, And Here’s Proof - cultofmac.com
Can it be jailbroken? That’s the first question a large number of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users ask when Apple releases a new iOS update — particularly when it’s a release as big as iOS 7. Apple attempts to block all the vulnerabilities that make jailbreaking possible with iOS updates, so there’s always a concern that the next will kill jailbreaking once and for all.
Thankfully, it doesn’t look like that will be the case with iOS 7, which has already been jailbroken.
iOS developer Ryan Petrich, who is responsible for popular tweaks like Activator, DietBar, FullForce, and LiveClock, posted a picture of his jailbroken
