This Week On The TC Gadgets Podcast: iOS 7, iOS 7, And A Hint Of 3D Printing For Good Measure - techcrunch.com
iOS 7 adoption is already reaching at least 35 percent of iPhone owners, and that’s just after two days. Themakeover has been a big one, with Apple promising 200 new features.
The font is different. The colors are brighter. The icons are childish. And the whole system seems to bounce and bobble against the movement of your hand.
It’s a brand new world.
Because Darrell’s obsessed with Apple, and because Apple had a big week, we discuss iOS 7 and very little else on this episode of the TechCrunch Gadgets Podcast featuring John Biggs, Matt Burns, Jordan Crook, Darrell Etherington, and Eliza Brooke.
Enjoy!

How-to: Use the new Camera app in iOS 7 - 9to5mac.com
Everyone loves taking pictures. And with iOS 7, Apple has attempted to improve the picture and video taking experience with a completely redesigned Camera app. First, let’s discuss the different ways to open up the Camera app, as it is the only app in iOS that has four different methods to launch it.

Tap on the home screen. This should be very simple, as this was the original method to open up the camera. Find the camera icon, tap on it.

2. Slide the camera up on the lock screen. This method came out in iOS 5. By swiping up the camera icon located in the lower right hand corner of the screen, it opens the camera.
3. Use Siri. Even though Siri came out with

Apple Reportedly Increasing Gold iPhone 5s Production In The Wake Of Huge Launch Demand - techcrunch.com
The gold iPhone 5s (which still seems more “champagne” to me) was a phone that seemed improbable when it was first rumored, but Apple did indeed make it – and consumers seem glad. A report from the Wall Street Journal says that Apple is asking suppliers to increase production of the gold finish iPhone 5s in order to keep up with demand.
Currently, just a few hours after iPhone 5s orders have gone live on the Apple online store, the gold iPhone is the only model that’s showing a shipping time longer than “7 to 10 days”) in the U.S., and it’s not going to make it out to new buyers until October, per the order page.

iOS 7 Lock Screen Vulnerability Discovered Which Gives Access To Photos And Social Sharing, Apple Is Working On Fix - techcrunch.com
Vulnerabilities in Apple’s iOS lock screens have become a fixture of new iOS releases over the past few years, and iOS 7 is not exempt. A new method for bypassing the passcode on a lock screen has been discovered by idle hands and reported by Forbes’ Andy Greenberg. Update below.
The lock screen bypass method involves sliding up Control Center, tapping on the timer button and holding down the power button until the cancel option comes up. You then tap on the cancel button then double-tap the home button. This gives you access to the multitasking UI. While most apps are locked out, the Camera

Awwww, yeah.

As we noted earlier this week, iOS 7 includes some code that will allow third party manufacturers create universal controllers for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Apple’s latest mobile operating system. It’s groundbreaking stuff, especially for a traditionally game-averse tech company, but we’re starting to see the first wave of controllers to come out.

Above, you can see the first teaser image from Logitech, found over at the Logitech Gaming Facebook page. Reported by Jared Nelson over at TouchArcade, it shows an iPhone with Terraria on it, and an obviously missing controller as well. There are

Free Apps And Games On The App Store Are About To Test Your Data Caps - techcrunch.com
Apple has increased the size of its download limits on cellular networks to 100MB from 50MB. The change comes as iOS 7 launches to the public as a ~700MB over-the-air upgrade to iPhone and iPad users.
The increase in size was first reported by MacRumors and we subsequently confirmed the new, higher limit.
Apple’s initial download limit for apps was 10MB while not connected to WiFi networks, forcing developers to take extensive measures to ensure that apps scooted in just under the line. This has become especially prevalent among developers of free apps and games. The thinking was that free apps acted as an ‘impulse download’. You are far
